My family is building a house, and we are moving in soon. I’m 15 years old and I am getting the HUGE bonus room upstairs :) I’m so excited!

Anyways, I have decided that I want my room to have a antique, pretty, feminine, light style. I don’t want anything that looks too Victorian or royal, just pretty and not too expensive looking. I want my bedding to be a very light pink such as in this picture:

I want it to look mature, but light and carefree at the same time. So no colors that are bright or pastel.
I have actually got a lot of my main furniture pieces (my bed, nightstand, vanity, and dresser) and they are all a dark wood, so I know I want my walls to be light. I’m just not sure what color.

I was thinking either an ivory-white, a VERY light dusty pink, or a very light tan color. What do you guys think? And any other suggestions besides the color would also be helpful!

ALSO: Our whole house is kind of going to have that old-country home look to it, and there is a little sitting/computer area right outside my room that will be the whole families. What could I do there to still have my style in it but also not be to girly since I do have guys in my family as well?

I like the bedding set! It’s very feminine without being in-your-face pink – very cool!

As for the wall color, I think that a sandy beige/tan on the walls with a creamy white for the baseboards and trim would be an excellent combination and would go well with the bedding you have chosen. You could inject an accent color through the use of curtains, throw pillows, maybe a throw type blanket and an area rug or two.

Regarding the sitting room/computer nook, you could continue the same wall color & trim paint combo to unify the space. But as for decorating, if the space belongs to the whole family, I think that the whole family should have a say in how it is put together.

What color should I paint/decorate my bedroom?

Okay, so I have decided that it is time to totally redo my room. I’m getting a new mattress and everything. The only thing that I am not changing is some of the furniture. Here I realize my problem – I inherited my great grandmothers furniture when she passed away. When she got it it was about 100 years old, so it’s almost 200 years old now, so I really would love to keep it in my room, but it forces me to keep my room decoration almost victorian. thanks for all the answers i got so far…at this point i love the powder blue, sort of a light green and a light pink. i may try to incorporate some cocoa-y brown, if i can find the accessories. :) haha.

What color should I paint my room?

so i’m redoing my bedroom and i got the perfect linens. found them really cheap at Home Sense. its perfect. i love purple and the kind of antique/victorian look. so now i just need to know what color i should paint my room. i wanted to paint the trim and closet door black but my parents gave that a HECK no. so its just the walls that i can paint.

What wall color (with a pink counter top, and walnut cabinet) can give my bathroom a Victorian style feeling?

The wall color I have now is soft yellow, so you can see with the colors; soft yellow and baby pink; it really feels like a bathroom for a little girl who still is in middle school. I want something that is more sophisticated and really gives a Victorian or antique feeling. (I know to achieve that look I still have to do some decorations)

My bath is just average size, not very big, and get also average natural light.

Here’s all the other colors I have in my bathroom?
I used 4×4 natural stones for my counter top and wall around the tub. They are somewhere between pink and baby pink.

12X12 tile for flooring. Don’t know what happened to me really I also got tiles that are pink, but are darker than the 4×4 natural stones.

The cabinet is walnut.

Mirror has a gold frame.

Yeah that’s about it, so what do you think?

The colors in my living room are:

couchs- chocolate brown
furniture (entertainment & end tables)- black
wall decor (mirror, painting, & clock)- gold & brown

i dont want to buy just solid brown curtains because there is already alot of brown in the livingroom. i was thinking brown victorian style curtains w/ gold designs but i cant find them anywhere. well actually someone was selling them on ebay but someone bought them before i could. so my question is what is another color besides brown that will look nice and not tacky & out of place?
