Question by boom*: Please help me remodel my bedroom(modern and victorian styles)?
I am looking to remodel my room completely. My room is small/medium sized so i am looking for relatively small furniture. Call me picky, but i can’t find ANYTHING I like. i would like very modern/contemporary furniture with victorian decor around the room. I know the cross is big but I know that with the correct furniture and decor it will look Fabulous! As far as furniture goes, I am looking for something that is good quality and sturdy. I would prefer if there was no grain on wooden furniture and for a bed and case men furniture I am looking to spend no more that $ 1500. I am looking for victorian/girly decor. links and pictures would be most helpful! thanks so much!

I have a TINY room but i’m quite happy with the way that i decorated it. Its cute and simple. I used to have my drawers from all my clothes outside but because my room is so small i wanted to make it look bigger i got drawers that go inside my cupboard which is easy and clean looking. then i have my bed, bedside table and a mirror in my room and that’s basically it. I like simple and spacey, if thats not for you i’m sorry i couldn’t help :)

I have an old home built in 1904. All the trim is white. I am debating on stripping and refinishing, but someone told me that these old victorian houses had white trim originally. I know this is not true of craftsman houses (1920′s – 930′s) Does anyone have any insight on this? If it matters it’s a house in Minneapolis, MN.

Unless your home is a very fancy one and was built for people of means, your woodwork is probably pine with paint. Not everyone lived in ‘the grand fashion’. Sometimes pine was used and then painted to look like wood. You should do some research by finding an out-of-the-way area and gently scraping a small piece to expose past layers. You will also be able to see what type of wood there is after you get through the paint, and actually, Craftsman homes also had painted woodwork.

so i want my room to have victorian black furniture with light pink walls and white trim. very….regal? chic i guess would be a good word. it wont let me put photos in but basically i have a big built in desk and set of shelves built into my wall (very annoying and way more than i need) bamboo floors- very small closet, big “antiqued” white dresser, brown victorian day bed, hot pink bed sheets, and a ton of stuffed animals on my bed. please do you have any idea how i can redo my room pretty? like ideas on details and stuff? thanks so much.

Help! Lost Title and Author for kid’s ghost reincarnation book?

I remember reading this book as a paper back in the late 1980′s I think 1985-1988. It was a Young Adult novel-I want to find a copy.

The main character plays the piano and every time she plays “Three Blind Mice” is sounds wrong to her…because she seems to remember it differently.

She goes with her mother to a nearby small Victorian tourist type town to shop and she has never been there before but she recognizes the town. She even recognizes one of the buildings as someplace that she used to live…but she could not have possibly lived there in her lifetime.

She later talks to here friend about this and the two of them go back to the town alone to ask questions and look around. She comes across an antique shop and finds an old music box that plays “3 Blind Mice” but it is messed up—it skips a note so the sound isn’t quite right—which is how she always remembers it!

She runs into this old man and she recognizes him as someone named Toddy but she remembers him as a child..
She remembers Toddy as being a bully and he did something to scare her in a graveyard. The graveyard was set on the edge of a cliff…he scared here and she fell off the cliff and was killed from fall. So basically murdered. So she has these memories because she was reincarnated.

I really want to get my hands on a copy of this book.

Anyone have any information or any information to some kind of book search site?

HELP! I have tried EBAY and i need to sell some items, what other web pages or ideas to sell?

I am trying to sell new collectable dolls such as barbie and an I love lucy doll as well as a unique victorian style doll house. But i have tried ebay which i know is the most popular or the place to be in order to sell. Unfortunately it has not worked out.
